Worldwide Startup Competition starts

Azercell Telecom and PASHA Bank announce the launch of the Worldwide Startup Competition project. The project implemented in by Barama Innovation Center and Swiss Seedstars company is aimed at promotion of entrepreneurship culture and support of people with innovative ideas.
This year the Worldwide Startup Competition will run in 20 countries. Azercell provides an opportunity for Azerbaijani youth to join this global tournament. The participants will get a chance to present business ideas in area of information technologies, explore opportunities for their implementation and receive grants to build their own business. Worldwide Startup Competition opens the participants a great opportunity to develop entrepreneurship skills, implementing business ideas and promote them globally.
The applications received at the first stage will be reviewed and evaluated by the experts of Azercell, PASHA Bank and Seedstars company, as well as by the independent experts. Then the program will offer selected teams a seminar on knowledge application for business projects. The winners will be selected and awarded with prizes at the final event. Most importantly the winning project will also get a chance to present their business idea to international judges of the Grand Final in Lausanne, Switzerland in January 2014. The finalists will benefit from opportunity to receive investments to implement their technology related business projects, work with international mentor and get European exposure.
Azercell has implemented a number of programs in support of start-ups. Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Program, organized by Barama Innovation Center supported four business ideas and their implementation had already started.
The final of the program in Azerbaijan will be held on March 29, 2013 at US Educated Azerbaijani Alumni Public Union office.
