Azercell Telecom – the leading company of Azerbaijan’s mobile communications market that has always been supporting projects aimed at the development of youth and their academic skills, announced the winners of its Regional Student Program. As a result of multi-stage selection process of the Regional Student Program, 5 students have been awarded with the title “Azercell’s Scholar” and along with monthly bursary of 200 AZN from Azercell until the end of their university education, the winners will have an opportunity to increase their knowledge in telecommunication, get invitations to company’s corporate events, attend various trainings and pass an internship program within the company. The Program winners are: 1 student from Lankaran State University and 2 students from Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute and Nakhchivan State University.
We would like to remind that Azercell launched the Regional Student Program on October 15, 2014 and created an opportunity for students of Nakhchivan State University, Lenkaran State University, Polytechnic Institute of Labour Students to join the Program. The purpose of the Regional Student Program is to encourage successful students and young talents with outstanding academic achievements, support the professional development of high-potential students, as well as engage them in corporate social responsibility activities to increase their contribution to the society.
The selection consisted of 2 stages. The first one comprised of screening the application forms and documents provided online by students. During this stage Azercell’s HR specialists held presentations for students in Lankaran State University, Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute and Nakhchivan State University. The second stage asked the applicants to complete written task on IQ logical tests and submit an essay on different topics in the Azerbaijani. Moreover, the students took part in face-to-face interviews held by the specialists of Azercell. The students were assessed on the following criteria: academic knowledge, world vision, interest and aspirations for science and education.
The Student Program of Azercell, held annually since 2008, is under a strong interest and attention by Azerbaijani students. Along with the scholarship from Azercell, these students also gained a remarkable experience for own career with the help of the Company's specialists. We would like to remind that Azercell Telecom has implemented range of successful projects for the development of science and education opportunities of youth. Some of the remarkable projects, among others, are 3G and 4G laboratories in the universities of Azerbaijan, as well as a broad number of successful programs run by Barama Innovation Center and, of course, different internship and bursary opportunities for students.
