The activity and the projects conducted by Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Azercell Telecom LLC have drawn attention of local and international organizations. Thus, the Ambassador of Israel to Azerbaijan Mr. Dan Stav paid a visit to Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center with a purpose to learn more about the strategy, goals and activities of the Center. The meeting was also attended by young diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, namely Ms. Hila Rosefeld and Mr. Mike Driquez, as well as Mr. Imran Baghirov, Strategy and İnnovation Manager and Director of Barama Center, Ms. Nigar Shikhlinskaya, Corporate Communications Manager of Azercell, Mr. Jeyhun Atayev Senior Sustainability and Outreach Manager of PASHA Bank and other company representatives. Major topic of discussions was to explore possibilities for a potential cooperation between local startups and Israeli companies. The delegation of Israel expressed its readiness to cooperate with the Barama Center in the field of corporate social responsibility and innovative solutions. The ambassador highly appreciated the overall activities of Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and its continuous support to young startups. He expressed great interest to expand the relations in all possible fields between Azerbaijan and Israel and pointed out that he will use best endeavors to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the future.
In his turn, Imran Baghirov, Director of Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, informed the guests about the future plans of the Center and upcoming international projects.
Notably, Barama Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center was established in 2009 by Azercell Telecom LLC with a view to boost business innovation and develop digital and entrepreneurial ecosystem. With the major goal to help startups to build their businesses, provide modern services and attract new customers, Barama Center has been supported by PASHA Bank, one of the leading companies in the country, since 2015. Over 80 projects were launched in Barama during past 9 years. 20 of such projects are currently operating as stand-alone companies. Each year Barama organizes over 50 events, such as Hackathon, Barama Teenager Academy – IT School, Breakfast with Mentors, Stupid Idea Day etc. The Center currently has 5 offices in Baku and regions: Headquarter, Baku State University, Baku ABC School, Azerbaijan Technical University and Lankaran State University.
