Training course for the mass media representatives on 28-29 October.
The two-day training course aimed to develop journalists’ writing skills.
Prominent Turkish media experts Mr. Mehmet Binay and Ms. Ayzen Atalay will be the trainers during the course entitled “How to write and to sell the best news”. Effective news writing, choosing the best title, selling your news to the editor and other topics will be covered during this course for mass-media representatives. At the end of the course the participants will be awarded with certificates.
Selection criteria for participants:
Representatives of print, Internet and electronic mass media can join this training course. The participants should have minimum 3 year experience in journalism. Those willing to participate should present personal information, including name, surname, date of birth, current employer, previous employers, and educational background. Moreover, in their application the prospective participants should elaborate on their purpose and expectations from the training. The applications should be sent to news@mcs.az until 22.10.2013.
Information on the trainers:
Mr. Mehmet Binay is an experienced journalist, documentary producer and a photographer. He started his journalist career in 1997 at Turkish NTV channel and was the author of weekly show program for 5 years. He is also the author of 97-minute documentary on Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline based on his own three-year long research. Currently Binay is a media trainer, photographer and film producer for public sector and international organizations. He graduated with major in political science, economics and law form the Darmstadt (Germany) Technical University. He is fluent in Azerbaijani, Turkish, English and German. Ms. Ayzen Atalay is a skillful TV journalist and an expert on civil society. She has started her media career in 1990 at “Hurriyet” newspaper and then worked as a reporter for Ugur Dundar’s program on Kanal D. Ms. Atalay has been doing researches for 20 years, and authored a broad range of news reports and other programs for Kanal D and NTV. She is specialized in civil society and environment issues. Throughout the years, Ms. Atalay has been running number of training courses for journalists and NGO members, dealing with these issues. Currently, Ms. Atalay is the editor of environment section of NTVMSNBC.com website.
