VoLTE makes calls twice as fast as 2G or 3G because the frequencies on which 4G operates have greater coverage than 2G or 3G bands. So you can comfortably receive calls further away from the communication tower or in buildings where signals are difficult to receive.
The big advantage of VoLTE is that the call quality is superior to 3G or 2G connections as way more data can be transmitted over 4G than 2G or 3G. This makes it easier to understand not only what the person on the other end of the line is saying but also their tone of voice. It's essentially HD voice calling and a more immersive user experience overall.
Smartphone users may also find that VoLTE improves battery life, as, without it, your phone has to switch from 4G to 2G or 3G when you make or receive a call, and then switch back again as soon as the call ends. All this switching, plus the need to search for a different signal each time, can lead to a significant battery drain.
Since you don't need to switch to 3G when calling with VoLTE, you can continue to use 4G for other phone functions during the call. It pays off if you're multitasking. For example, browsing the web or downloading an app simultaneously.
